Bradesco, currently one of the largest banking and financial organizations in Brazil, with headquarters in Sao Paulo has announced its new president.
Bradesco incumbent president, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi announced the resignation of Lazaro Brando from the Chairmanship of Bradesco Board of Directors. Lazaro Brando has been with Bradesco for 75 years, and he has been part of the council for 27 years. The 91 year olds resignation was a bit of surprise, while it was expected it was premature and not expected to take place at this point.
Carlos Alberto Rodrigues Guilherme, who has been working at Bradesco since he was only 13 years old will take over as the Vice President of the Council. It was confirmed by Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi the new President will be removed from the executive body of Bradesco. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, noted despite this process being a stressful and a somewhat painful process, it is necessary and has always been part of the banking corporate culture. CEO Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, stressed these process reflect sound corporate governance and reinforces the integrity of the banking systems. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi will act as both Vice President of the Council and Chairmanship of Bradesco’s Board of Directors until AGO meeting. The AGO meeting is the Ordinary General Assembly, and was scheduled for March 12th 2018. It is required by the Central Bank the announcement of the new President must be made available 30 days before the AGO meeting. Bradesco recently acquired HSBC, with over 800 branches, with millions of clients, and thousands of employees, the age requirements of the President was actually extended from 65 to 67 to allow more time to ensure the process of the appointment of the new leader transitions as smoothly as possible.

Octavio de Lazari began his career with Bradesco in 1978, and quickly became Agency Manager. In 1998 Octavio de Lazari became the Director of the credit division of Bradesco and switched the focus to small and medium sized corporations. Octavio de Lazari was promoted to Department Director of Loans and Financing, then two years after that promotion he was appointed the Board of Directors Officer. Executive Officer VP and CEO is the title Octavio de Lazari held in 2017.
